Mary Michael, RLA and Jay Adamson, LLA founded LandMatters Studios, LLC in 2015, PP. LandMatters Studios LLC is a Woman-owned business, and Certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprise. The cofounders have combined experience of over 70 years in landscape architecture and land planning and take an environmentally, forward-leaning position in the research, planning, design, execution and preservation of the outdoor built habitat. This collaborative process along with focused client interaction has been very successful for each founder and principal. Collectively, their history, experience and talents are unparalleled in the small to midsize environmental/land use consultancy firms.
We believe understanding a site's history, the social fabric, natural systems, regulatory issues and physical infrastructure are critical to a successful outcome. LandMatters Studios, LLC brings an array of award-winning professionals, crafting a specialized approach, support structure and solution centric relationship to meet the client's program and goals. As importantly, we build value and environmental stewardship.
Our seasoned team of professionals offers expertise in program development, urban planning, development standards, zoning codes, project visioning, land-use feasibility, environmental impact and economic studies. Planning and design projects have included new town centers, office/medical parks, live-learn-work campuses, academic communities, regional/ neighborhood park systems and multimodal transportation programs.
LandMatters Studios, LLC has International experience and the co-founders combine numerous projects ranging from estate planning, single / multifamily communities, retail centers, casinos, and hotel/resorts. Civic and governmental commissions including state, county and municipal level recreational complexes and parks. Green infrastructure and sustainable design protocols are woven into each project given the importance of the ecological and social benefits.
Environmental methodologies and advocacy underpins every project identity and gold. Adaptive reuse, redevelopment, repurposing and reforestation are just a few of the planning and design tools exercised by LandMatters Studios, LLC.

LandMatters maintains registration as professional landscape architects in Georgia, Massachusetts and New Jersey as well as certified planner in New Jersey as well as certified planner in New Jersey.
LandMatters is certified as DBE with GDOT, SBE with City of Atlanta, SBE with Fulton county and SLBE with Clayton County and Clayton Watershed.

Mary H Michael
Principal / Owner
Mary Michael is a graduate of the University of Georgia and a registered Landscape Architect. She specializes in tree preservation planning, streetscapes, parks and playgrounds, permitting documents and construction oversight. She has designed projects in Massachusetts, Virginia, South Carolina, China and throughout Georgia.

JAY ADAMSON
Principal
Jay Adamson is a licensed Landscape Architect and Professional Planner. He holds a BS from Rutgers University in Environmental Planning & Design. He provides consulting and design for waterfront developments, urban planning and redevelopment, and recreation facilities throughout the Northeast.
